Program Coordinator - Youth Development

FLSA Status: Exempt – Full-Time                                             

Reports to: Program Director - Youth Development

Summary/Objective:

Under the direction of the Youth Development Director and in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Northfield Area Family YMCA, the Program Coordinator for Youth Development oversees immediate youth development staff, programming, and operations for child watch, youth sports, and birthday parties. The coordinator will also assist in these areas for day camp, teen programming, and overall youth development programs. The coordinator will supervise, hire, and train staff and is a member of the Y's lead team.

Assistant Day Camp Director (Summer Seasonal)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt - Part-Time (Summer Seasonal)

Reports to: Program Director - Youth Development

Wages: $13.00-$15.00 per hour

Summary/Objective:

In accordance with the goals and objectives of the Northfield Area Family YMCA, the Assistant Day Camp Director is responsible for assisting in the safe operation and instruction of all day camp activities. The successful Assistant Day Camp Director will be an enthusiastic person who wants to spend the summer working in an outdoor camp setting while supervising children and staff. He/She must be an advocate for the Y four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. The Assistant Day Camp Director will also provide proper planning, execution and evaluation of the day-to-day programmatic and logistical operations of the summer day camp programs for the Northfield Area Family YMCA.

Wages: $12-$13.00 per hour

Summary/Objective:

In accordance with the goals and objectives of the Northfield Area Family YMCA, Summer Day Camp Leads are responsible for planning, creating, and leading curriculum development and day-to-day activities for age-specific day camps. A successful Summer Day Camp Lead will be an enthusiastic person who wants to spend the summer working in an outdoor camp setting with children. Wages: $11.00-$12.50 per hour

Summary/Objective:

In accordance with the goals and objectives of the Northfield Area Family YMCA, all levels of camp counselors are responsible for working with youth in a wide variety of summer activities that strengthen youth imaginations and stretch their mind, body and spirit. Summary/Objective:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Responsible for setting up birthday parties, hosting and running all party activities and clean up after parties.  Position includes communications with parents/guardians and active engagement with youth during event. Wages: $20.50-$21.00 per hour

Summary/Objective:

Under the direction of the YMCA’s Building & Maintenance Director, and in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Northfield Area Family YMCA and the Northfield Healthy Community Initiative, van drivers are responsible for transporting students and families over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions in a 15-passenger vehicle; ensuring vehicle is in a safe operating condition and ensuring safety of riders during transport, loading and unloading from the van.

Summary/Objective:

Summary/Objective:

The Personal Trainer follows the YMCA of the USA Health and Fitness guidelines and is responsible for planning and leading a range of individualized or group exercise/activity sessions for clients in a fitness specialty area. They perform a variety of fitness programs that are both educational and motivational and provide guidance on ways to support healthy lifestyles and healthy lifestyle changes. The Personal Trainer also provides customer service which promotes member wellness in accordance with the YMCA policies and procedures and creates a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment. The Swim Instructor at Northfield Area Family YMCA creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintain safe program conditions in the pool, deck and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA and the YMCA of the USA swim lesson curriculum. A swim instructor provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students and families in group, private, and semi-private swim lessons.

Wages: Modest Living Allowance; Qualified Federal Student Loan Forbearance; $6,495 Education Award upon successful completion of service.

Summary/Objective:

AmeriCorps Promise Fellows serve as caring adults who support, mentor, and build positive relationships with young people in 6-12th grade on their path to high school graduation. Fellows provide one-on-one and small group support to a group of students in a school or non-profit organization.
