at the Y!
Family Programs:
- Birthday Parties- Y birthday party program that offers kids the option of spending their special day with the Y.
- Dundas Preschoolers in the Park-New place and day, same preschool fun
- Family Fun Night at the Y- Come and play together as a family!
- Family Swim-Join us for Family Swim at the Northfield Senior Center (Northfield Y Members ONLY)
- Preschoolers in the Park-Gym time moves outside!
Wee Programs:
- Leap N’ Preschoolers- Come out and play! Each session will have group games and activities!
- Messy Art-Come out to the park for some creative exploration time.
- Preschoolers in the Park- Have gym time outside! Each week will have theme based activities
- Wee Camp- 4 days a week, for five weeks, we will be doing new and exciting adventures.
- Wee Golf-Kids will learn the basics of Golf.
- Wee and U4 Soccer-2 Soccer programs one for 3 year olds and one for 4 year olds
- Wee Sports Galore-Kids will be able to participate in numerous kinds of sports.
- Wee T-Ball-We focus on stretching muscles, teamwork, and heart healthy FUN
- Wee Tennis-An awesome oppurtunity for your child to participate in a life-long sport
- Yucky Science-Ooey, gooey, and outside fun!
Elementary Programs:
- Golf-Learn the basics of chipping, putting, and driving
- Prairie & Wood 1/2 Day Camp- 5 days a week for four weeks. This 1/2 day camp is based at the Carleton College Farm House where each week is unique, educational and tons of fun.
- Sports Galore-Introduce your child to a variety of sports this summer.
- T-Ball/Baseball-Batting, teamwork, pitching, and base running is what you will learn.
- Tennis-Kids learn the basics of serving, receiving, holding a racket, balance, and contolling power.
- Y Kids Tri-Kids Triathlon (swim, bike, and run)
- Y Kids Triathlon Mini Camps-Try our mini camps for the Y Kids Tri, these classes will help prepare all kids who plan on participating in the Y Kids Tri.
- Y Navigators- Flexible 3, 4, or 5 day a week program. Come one week or come all summer long. Kids enjoy trips to local and not-so-local destinations all designed to strengthen their imaginations and stretch their bodies.
Summer Camps:

- Boxing (8th-12th Grade)- Learn the ABC’s of Boxing
- Adult Open Swim-Open swim times for adults at the Northfield Senior Center for ONLY NORTHFIELD YMCA MEMBERS
- Aqua Fitness Classes-Group exercise fun in the pool, at the Northfield Senior Center for ONLY NORTHFIELD YMCA MEMBERS
- Aqua Zumba-All the fun of Zumba but in the pool, at the Northfield Senior Center
- Bootcamp-Enjoy a class that encompasses a variety of exercises designed increase your strength, boost your metabolism, and increase cardiovascular endurance.
- Cardio Kick- Have a blast in this high intensity, high calorie burning workout. This class is sure to make you sweat.
- Core Fitness- Strengthen and tone your core muscles.
- Pilates Fusion- Work your “powerhouse” muscles-abs, low back, thighs, and buttocks.
- Power-Strengthen your major muscle groups through simple atheletic movements
- Step- All around great cardio workout Watch the calories burn away in Step.
- Strength Fusion- Strengthen and tone your entire body in this slow-paced strength class.
- Yoga- Relieve stress while you increase your strength, stability and core muscles
- Zumba- Come join the Zumba-Nation at the Northfield YMCA and have a rocking time
Y Membership At-a-Glance:
You do not need to be a Y member to participate in Y programs and services,
except for swimming at the Senior Center
- Youth & Family Members can take part in FREE and deeply discounted youth programs and FREE Child Watch at Wellness Center
- All adults have access to all equipment at the Wellness Center, lap and aquatic exercise classes
- FREE Group Exercise Classes g-a-l-o-r-e each week
- Discounts on summer camp programs & on all youth programs
- Get involved in a Northfield-owned public charity. Benefits that give back!
- Scholarships are available! No one is turned away because of an inability to pay
- There is a one time $25 Joiners Fee. For the month of January, the joiners fee is only $12
- No Contracts, you pay month-to-month
- We are partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medica, UCare and HealthPartners insurance companies. Join the Y and you could be reimbursed for living a healthy lifestyle. Check with your insurance company for details
- As a spouse of a deployed Guard or Reserve member, you and your family are eligible to join our YMCA free, courtesy of Military OneSource. For details click here
