      From non-competitive sports to creative art and music, Wee programs nurture the potential in every child.

    • Wee Camp
      (Preschool)
      Monday-Thursday morning camp that allows kids to explore the wonders of nature, make arts and crafts, play with friends, and exercise with lots of dancing, games and giggles. Located at the Carleton Arboretum.
    • Prairie & Wood Camp
      (Entering Grades K-5)
      Weekly morning camp giving kids a chance to explore Carleton’s Arboretum as they learn, play, and create. Located at the Carleton Arboretum.
    • Y Navigator Camp
      (Entering Grades K-3)
      Choose from 3, 4 or 5 days a week – one week or all summer long. Join us for days filled with creativity, laughter, friendship and belonging.
    • Tween Extreme Camp
      (Entering Grades 4-7)
      Now expanded to include 7th Grade campers! 3, 4 or 5 days a week options, with fun just for our older campers!
    • Counselor In Training
      (Entering Grades 8-10)
      Counselors-in-Training or “CITs” are participants entering grades 8 – 10 or up to age 15 who are looking for leadership experience and will learn the specific skills needed for working with kids and co-workers through hands-on experiences in our camps.
    • Overnight Camp Pepin
      (2-12th grade)
      Hosted by the Red Wing YMCA, traditional, specialty and trail and trips camps.

COVID/Reopening Updates

Health, Wellness, and Family Resources

Our facility reopened on Saturday, December 19, 2020 with modifications in accordance with the guidance from the Governor’s Executive Order (EO)20-103

Note: All staff, members and participants will have their temperature checked and will answer health screening questions before entering the building.

  • Temperature taken with a no-contact thermometer machine
  • Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms (chills, new cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, muscle aches, headache, loss of smell or taste)
  • Is anyone in your household experiencing any of the above symptoms?
  • In the past 14 days, to the best of your knowledge, have you or anyone in your household come in contact (within 6′ for 15 minutes or more) with anyone experiencing any of the above symptoms or having a confirmed case of COVID-19?
    • If yes, are you a healthcare worker equipped with the CDC recommended PPE at the time of exposure?

Guidelines & Protocols

Please note the following changes have been put in place at the YMCA to keep all members and staff safe. Guidelines closely follow guidance under the Governor’s Executive Orders and Public Health recommendations.

  • Members and Program Participants only at this time (no guest passes or Nationwide membership will be allowed)
  • A mask is required at all times while in the facility; including during exercise
    • Exemption for pool patrons showering or in pool
  • Time in the facility is 60 minutes in each area per day – enforced only when we are at 50% of posted area capacity. Staff will let you know when we are enforcing time limits.
  • Per Executive Order, physical distancing requirements will be enforced including members of the same household
    • 9 feet while exercising
    • 6 feet in all other areas of the facility

Age Requirements:

  • Ages 5+ allowed in Open Gym at this time. Ages 5-12 must have an adult (18+) from their household unit in the same gym quadrant (w/9 ft physical distance). 
  • Ages 13+ may utilize the pool, group exercise classes, gym, wellness center, and programming. Ages 13-14 must have an adult (18+) from their household unit in the facility.
  • Ages 15+ do not require an adult in the facility.

Currently Open Offerings at Limited Capacity:

  • RESET Challenge – FREE and open to everyone!
  • Wellness Floor (cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, track) – no prior registration required
  • Open Gym – Registration Required

When you come back to the Y:

  • Markers indicating healthy social distancing of at least 6 feet in all areas
  • Increased spacing of fitness equipment, as well as capacity limits in all areas
  • Ample access to sanitation stations
  • Significant disinfection of equipment and activity areas throughout the day
  • Limited onsite transactions will take place – they will need to take place online or by phone.  Many forms have been made available online
  • Increased signage throughout the building to encourage social distance, hand-washing and remind members to disinfect equipment
  • Water fountains will be available only for bottle refills (bring a water bottle!)
