Class Descriptions

Chair Yoga/Fit

Chair Yoga/Fit is a form of modern yoga that utilizes adapted asanas (poses) that are appropriate for people who are unable to follow a standard yoga class. Using a chair is perfect for beginners or anyone who has difficulty getting to the floor and for those with limited mobility. In your practice we will be seated and/or standing using a chair for support. Chair Yoga/Fit offers a wide range of benefits, increased flexibility, improved strength, stress reduction and improved balance.

CPR/AED/First Aid Certification

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion must be completed prior to attending the instructor-led skills session. Upon successful completion, a valid 2 year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

Blending learning CPR courses require an estimated 2-3 hours of online work to be completed prior to the in-class portion.

Foundations of Yoga

This six session series will introduce you to the principles of yoga including breath work, strength, balance and stability. Yoga poses will be taught within each session including hands on adjustments, prop use and alignment cues. Throughout the practices we will also cover the eight limbs of yoga, expanding these practices from your mat into everyday life.

"Yoga is a light, which once lit will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter your flame." -B.K.S Iyengar

Foundations of Yoga II

This six session series will help to refine and enhance what you already know about the principles of yoga and mindfully introduce you to some additional advanced poses. The intent is to help you to become familiar with variations of common poses, balancing poses, arm balances as well as inversions. Each session will cover a set of poses followed by a flow class that sequences the poses covered. Adjustments and alignment cues will be offered to assist in finding poses that work in your body. Ages 13+

"Yoga is not a work-out; it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice, to make us teachable, to open up our hearts, and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are." -Rolf Gates
