Do you have a Y personal story?
When my family and I first moved to Northfield our neighbors suggested that we enroll both of our children in the Y’s evening basketball camp. These activities really helped our kids, as well as my wife and I, become introduced to our new community.
Who is the Northfield Y for and what purpose(s) will it serve?
The Y is for all community members at all ages. There really is something for everyone at the Y- not only does the Y offer educational and physical activities, but is a place for people to make connections and interact with each other through their activities.
What impact do you see the Y having on the overall physical and preventative health initiatives in our community?
Organizations like the Y are important components for healthy communities. The Y’s impact is through education, activities and engagement resources, and the more resources available to the community, the better!
What are the ways you see the Y being a good partner in your line of work?
The Y has been a great partner for Just Food, as we share common goals for the health of our community. The opportunity to improve our partnerships on educational initiatives, as well as community outreach and engagement activities, is really exciting!
Why do you support the Y (in programs, partnerships, financial contributions, membership, etc)?
Creating a healthy, sustainable community takes an effort of the entire community. The YMCA plays a huge role in improving our community, and we’re truly stronger when we all work together.
Why is it important for people in our community to make a pledge to the Y Capital Campaign?
By contributing to the YMCA’s Capital Campaign you’re making an investment in your community’s health. The return on your investment will be the opportunities that the Y provides, for generations to come.
