Northfield community members preselected 12 architectural firm recommendations. All firms were local or had headquarters in the Twin Cities area. We received five proposals (three submitted regrets that they didn’t have the time to add our project at this time).
After comparing to a selection criteria, three were interviewed. After interviews and reference checks, one firm was selected unanimously by our Construction Committee – BWBR!
We are extremely excited to team with BWBR to begin work on the facility. Please take a moment to view some recent work of BWBR on their website (listed below)!
A message from Greg Fenton, BWBR Principal:
“BWBR, a 91-year-old firm with offices in Saint Paul and Madison, is proud to partner with you building a better community in the Northfield area.
One of our founders, Milton Bergstedt (the first B in our name) instilled in our firm a focus on mission-driven work that enhances the lives of people in communities where we work.
Your enthusiasm teamed with our experience and excitement will yield a great solution to finally give the YMCA its own home to properly serve the community.
More than creating a building, the solution we’ll discover together will create a long lasting home that supports the programs for the health and wellness of individuals and families offered today and in the future.
You can see some examples of our work with YMCAs and others on our website at www.bwbr.com/work/recreation.”
