Our Y offers over 45+ awesome group or water exercise classes per week with a variety of formats: stretch, strength, cardio and high-intensity for all fitness levels. We have some of the best known instructors in Northfield. Join us for fitness fun; whether this is your first class or your hundredth, all are welcome.
Healthy living through physical activity is central to the Y’s cause. The YMCA’s Group Exercise programs are fun and interactive ways to engage members in activity and positively impact their health. Tailored to health seekers, group exercise classes provide a variety of experiences that are designed to engage individuals in a supportive group setting, enhancing social bonds and strengthening community.
The YMCA’s Group Exercise instructors are highly trained to provide health seekers safe and effective exercise programs. Additionally, YMCA Group Exercise instructors facilitate connections within the class setting and create opportunities for storytelling and relationship building.
The YMCA’s Water Exercise program encourages people of all ages to use the buoyant qualities of water to enhance their physical fitness through exercise. It’s an ideal form of exercise for all ages and increases physical strength and endurance without putting stress and strain on joints, as in land-based exercise. Swimmers and non-swimmers alike can take part in this type of exercise to reduce emotional stress and tension, improve health, and encourage and improve feelings of well-being and self-esteem.
