Day Camp programs help kids grow in a caring, encouraging environment, meet new friends and learn good values—all while having a ton of fun. We provide memories that last a lifetime.
Options to Mix-n-Match:
Day Camp (K-5th) or Wee Camps (ages 3-5):
Explore outdoors, build a fire & fire safety (age appropriate), nature hikes, animal & bug search, exercise and tons of games, team building, playing with friends, arts and crafts, imagination and adventure opportunities abound in the great outdoors!
Y Navigator Wilderness Day Camp Experience (K-5th):
Outdoor wilderness themes all summer, multiple outdoor and nature trips weekly, curriculum based— arts, character development, fitness, science, and service learning. Based at the National Guard Armory. 3, 4 or 5 day options. Come one week or come all summer!
On-going support, advice, guidance and laughter provided by the YMCA Volunteer Day Camp Committee: John & Gwen Daniels, Katy Hargis, Jean Callister-Benson and Mark Thornton (Board Member).
Carleton College’s Prairie & Wood Nature Day Camp (ages 4-12):
Taking place at Carleton College for over 20 years. Prairie and wood (PAW) is an outdoor 1/2 day summer camp for kids. The program involves participation ina wide range of activities which encourage imagination, curiosity, and group interaction. The camp is designed to be a fun, cooperative learning environment that features an understanding of the importance of creating a thoughtful relationships with the nature world.

Carleton College and the Northfield Area Family YMCA are collaborating with their summer Day Camp programs in areas to include staff training, easy online registration, rosters, invoicing and communication. Programming is coordinated and developed separately from one another.
Combined, both programs offer parents a wide variety of options for summer opportunities (full day, 1/2 day or 3, 4 or 5 day options). We hope you find this collaborative advantageous as you plan your summer
