Camps
Camp programs help kids grow in a caring, encouraging environment, meet new friends and learn good values. All our programming has an outdoor, nature or environmental emphasis and focus. At YMCA camps, kids have fun and create memories that last a lifetime. Our programs are designed with your child in mind but we also provide many options to make summer planning easier for families. Be sure to check out all the opportunities.
Options to Mix-n-Match:
Wee Camp (ages 3-5)
Explore outdoors, animal & bug search, nature hikes, lots of exercise and tons of games, team building, playing with friends, arts and crafts, imagination and adventure opportunities abound in the great outdoors! Each week has new curriculum and adventurous plans – so join us for one week or all weeks! Location of our Wee Camp is on Kris & Rick Estenson’s farm. Y Navigators (K-5th grade)
Outdoor wilderness themes all summer, numerous trips to city and county parks, outdoor pool and library trips every week, curriculum based program including the arts, character development, fitness, science, and service learning. Y Navigator is based out of the National Guard Armory. 3, 4 or 5 day options. Come one week or come all summer! Prairie & Woods 1/2 day Day Camp (ages 5-12)
1/2 day camp option for parents with a focus on creating fun in a cooperative learning environment that fosters an appreciation of nature. This program involves participation in a wide range of activities which encourage imagination, curiosity, and group interaction and is a collabroation between Carleton College and the Northfield Area Family YMCA. Teen Adventure Camp (grades 6-8th)
1/2 day adventure program for middle school students. Hands-on camp experience designed by talented staff with an environmental and outdoor focus. Further details are available by clicking the link above or hover your mouse over the “Camps” tab above and select a program.
Fall Spanish Camp
This 3 hour a day-four day a week program will be provided based on parent feedback and will focus on helping your youth brush-up on their Spanish before the school year begins. We’ll create an atmosphere of instruction AND activities based programming so your youth with enjoy getting back into the swing of their Spanish classes this fall.
