LINKS COMING SOON (when the construction site becomes more INTERESTING to see (late January):
The Northfield Y honors and celebrates those generous community members who have allowed us to begin construction on Phase I of the new community center. In keeping with its pledge to the community to ensure a fiscally responsible, sustainable organization, we will include Phase II into this construction project only if we are able to secure enough pledges to cover the additional cost. Your pledges matter…please click the green “GIVE” button on the left banner of this web page and make your contribution to the Y today!
With construction plans for Phase I finalized, Northfield’s Y, which is expected to open in the fall of 2014, will feature an indoor aquatics center, group fitness studio, cardio and wellness floor, supervised children’s center, locker rooms, offices, and multi-purpose community gathering space. Plans for phase II, featuring a full size gym and walking track, are in the development stage. The project cost to complete Phase I is $8.3M and to complete Phase I and Phase II together is $9.3M.
Since 2005, the Northfield Y has served thousands of youth, families and individuals in the community through its full slate of annual programming, camps, and fitness offerings utilizing numerous locations all around town. To prepare for a successful capital campaign, feasibility studies have been conducted, pro formas have been carefully evaluated, volunteers and staff have been recruited, monies have been raised and national best practices have been followed.
Interested in learning more about the project? We plan to participate in a wide variety of opportunities (gatherings, presentations, open houses) to share the project, answer questions, involve more people, and simply give everyone time to ask questions and view the plans. If your group would like further information, let us know! Join us! Ready to make your pledge to the Northfield Y Capital Campaign? We need your help to reach our campaign goal and raise the roof to the new Y Community Center. Donating is easy. Press the “Give” button (upper red side bar) or download the Y Donation Card and mail it in to 519 Division Street, Northfield MN 55057
