The Northfield Area Family YMCA in the News

The Northfield  Y honors and celebrates those generous community members who have allowed us to begin construction on the new Y community center.  In keeping with its pledge to the community to ensure a fiscally responsible, sustainable organization, we will build only what we can afford and what the community supports financially.  Your pledges matter…please click the green “GIVE” button on the left banner of this web page and make your contribution to the Y today or print a pledge card and mail it in today.

Donor Recognition: Making Groundbreaking Possible

Construction plans for a full facility are finalized.  Northfield’s Y, which is expected to open in the fall of 2014, will feature an indoor aquatics center, group fitness studio, cardio and wellness floor, supervised children’s center, locker rooms, offices, and multi-purpose community gathering space.  In March of 2014, fundraising milestones were reached to also begin construction on a full size gym, an indoor walking track, and family/special needs locker rooms.  The project cost is $9.3M and includes construction, land and start-up expenses.

Building Information: Visualizing the Dream of a Y Community Center

Since 2005, the Northfield Y has served thousands of youth, families and individuals in the community through its full slate of annual programming, camps, and fitness offerings utilizing numerous locations all around town. To prepare for a successful capital campaign, feasibility studies have been conducted, pro formas have been carefully evaluated, volunteers and staff have been recruited, monies have been raised and national best practices have been followed.
