Witnessing 19 of our high school students debate, pass bills, try court cases, lobby, work with the media and the senior cabinet is an amazing experience.   These students are passionate and get amazing experience in public speaking and articulating their opinions in a logical manner. 

This past weekend, Minnesota YMCA Youth in Government (YIG) took over the Capitol building and two floors of the Minneapolis Hilton as students literally played the role of state representatives, court of appeals and trial attorneys, lobbyists and everything else that happens at our state capital.  19 students from the Northfield YMCA delegation joined students statewide to participate AND our students had the opportunity to meet with Senator Kevin Dahle!  For details – check out Senator Dahle’s web page :  Senator Kevin Dahle and the YMCA connect
