Teen Adventure Camp (grades 6-8)

2012 Teen Adventure Camp – Offered 5 weeks this summer:

 

Teen Cuisine Camp I (June 18-21) (Base Camp: Armory)

Organic food, vegetarianism, cooking and eating, visit local farms (Open Hands Farm, STOGROW, etc), purchase your own food at Just Food Co-op and cook delicious meals in the Armory kitchen. Great program for kids who like to cook or want to learn!

Teen Media Camp I (July 9-12) (Base Camp: Armory)

Write a newspaper article for the Northfield News, talk on the radio with KYMN, journal writing, photo essays or murals, scrapbooking, publishing your work, write a novel or music! We’ll tap into your youth and find their media passions.

Teen Outdoor Camp I (July 16-19) (Base Camp: Carleton Arb)

Orienteering, examine nature, canoe the Cannon River and go fishing and swimming. Check out local species, the arboretum and discover our ecosystem concerns! Youth explore, learn a few tricks of the outdoors and have a ton of fun!

2nd Camp offering will be unique from first! Organic food, vegetarianism, cooking and eating, visit local farms (Goat & Berry Farms, etc), purchase your own food at Just Food Co-op and cook delicious meals in the Armory kitchen. Great program for kids who like to cook or want to learn!

Teen Outdoor Camp I (August 6-9) (Base Camp: Carleton Arb)

Orienteering, examine nature, canoe the Cannon River and go fishing and swimming. Check out local species, the arboretum and discover our ecosystem concerns! Youth explore, learn a few tricks of the outdoors and have a ton of fun!  Both Outdoor Camp adventures will be different, come join us for both Outdoor Camp weeks!!

This program is a four day program based out of the National Guard Armory. Hours are 1:00 -5:00 pm., Monday – Thursday. Gather your friends and get together for some real summertime fun!  These 1/2 day adventure programs are created just for you.  Hands-on experience each week with low staff to you ratios 1:5.

YMCA Teen Adventure Camp At a Glance ~ For Middle School youth.
Days/Times: 1:00-4:00 pm, Monday – Thursday
Cost: Members: $50 per 4 day week
Cost: Non-members: $55 per 4 day week
Deposit: $20 per week deposit at time of sign-up to guarantee spot
Location: Depending upon which camp you are in (See weeks)
