If you get a chance, call or stop by the Northfield Area Family YMCA and say hello to new Executive Director, Virginia Kaczmarek. Here’s her reaction to her new position:

“Being offered the position of Executive Director at the Northfield Area Family YMCA was a big celebration day for me and now that I’ve been in town already a few days, that feeling is being multiplied exponentially. Already I’ve met with many volunteers and staff and community members and have been learning about the contribution the YMCA is making and what it can further do in the Northfield community. The big smiles on everyone’s faces are more than a welcome to a new comer. I look forward to becoming a part of the community and doing the good work of a YMCA.”

Virginia has made a significant impact on both the Minneapolis and St. Paul YMCAs during her career, starting in 2000 as Director of Administrative Services for the YMCA of Metropolitan Minneapolis . She moved to the YMCA of Greater Saint Paul in 2001, and worked for the Southwest Area YMCA as the district DAS. Over the past 9 years Virginia has worked with 11 different branches in both associations with 13 different Executive Directors. In 2004, she accepted the position as Executive Director at the River Falls Area YMCA. Under her leadership the YMCA increased their operating budget, developed a strong board, started new programs and increased financial support for the YMCA.
